| THE INTERNET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
[Jul. 19th, 2009|03:55 am] |
Turns out i got the stupidest virus ever and everything on my computer was wiped out. INCLUDING MY LIVEJOURNAL PASSWORD I CREATED SIX YEARS AGO AND COULDNT REMEMBER FOR THE LIFE OF ME!! But, don't worry guys. After like, eight billion months away from the internet i'm back and kickin' (it).
The Life of Carly Ng, bulletted:
1. Finished my first year at PSU, successfully 2. Got really into Greek mythology 3. Raised three chicks in my room for a month and a half (DONT WORRY PICTURES SOON SO CUTE!!!) 4. Became more assertive 5. Built a chicken coop 6. Painted my bike green. Chris taught me how to jump off the back of my bike and now i just need to learn how to 360 handplant darkslide or something. Here!
 8. Chris in town for forever 9. Beach house! 10. Swimming in different water every day.
 11. Cutting loose with Dr. Finger 09, gnome sayin'?
 12. Turning 21 in like, two days. IM DRUNK ALREADY!!! 13. I just watched Tokyo Drift and damn, that's a good movie.
I'd like to think that there's more than this, but i think that's it. River every day, book every week, project now and then, endless (and fruitless) job search. But w/e i'm skipping town in a week anyway and i'll be hanging out in the California sunshine for a while.

"There runs an invisible thread that binds one living being to another for a moment, then unravels, then is stretched again between moving points so that at every second the unhappy city contains a happy city unaware of its own existence."
It's raining and sunny and 55 degrees. There are these brown birds that have been perchin' on the tree outside my window for the past two days. DTF.
I played Slap The Bag last night and so now i have to learn a shit-ton of biology. NOT DOWN.
Posi-lock non-stop.
Friday=not being here but being in the sunshiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine and being with izaaaaaaaaaaak and annnnnnnnnnnndy and california. I have such a crush on california.
TTYL babes.

[Mar. 12th, 2009|12:56 am] |
You can look up right now and you'd be seeing the same moon as me. Isn't that nice?
Today was warm, tiring, productive, relieving, happy, and really sad. But, if there are a couple things that have been embedded into my being, they go as follows:
1. Posi-lock 2. Just do it 3. Take care of business 4. Nunca olvidar 5. I love you, regardless 6. More than one more day
I've figured it out. I'm getting a tattoo of our house so that i can always remember the people inside and the overwhelming (even if sometimes forgotten) love they hold, Regardless!

YOU!

1. Our cat Wamp Wamp started blogging. He's documenting his own personal life along with all of Alex's firsts. Apparently, Alex has a lot of them and Wamp Wamp finds it interesting.
2. David Berman retired! I didn't know i'd be so sad about that. Everybody listen to American Water right now.
3. Alex tricked us into playing Bottle. It's a drinking game that his friend made up. Only rule of the game: obtain a bottle of liquor and drink it. This is what it did to me during the game:

And this is what it did to me after: UGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I felt terrible all day. Especially because Alex thought it would be a good idea to play Double Bottle Bonus Round. UUUUUGHHHHHHHHH
4. On Tuesday i went on a really amazing bike ride to the Skidmore Bluffs and yesterday i went on a really amazing bike ride down the Spring Water Corrider, which magically leads to La Sirenita and The Bins. Bike rides!! There's nothing better, i think.
5. I have three separate hickies from three separate people! School's going to be so embarrassing tomorrow! When did it turn into 11th grade again?!

| Where did everyone go? |
[Jan. 26th, 2009|02:16 am] |
All my friends are ghosts and i can't fall asleep.
 Told you so.
 This one's not a ghost, he's a pirate.
This is our new roommate Jono. He speaks Japanese fluently and he takes really good looking photographs. He laughs really loud and kind of abrasively and today he helped us clean the kitchen and bought us a 2 liter of soda. He also put his own polaroid up on our chalkboard which no previous roommate has done before. It's a good thing.
That's me, in case you forget.
And the cold's making me feel a little like this:

|
| I CANT DO IT |
[Jan. 15th, 2009|09:58 pm] |
I can't do it, i can never go to school or want to go to school or be at school and say, "hey, look at this, this is nice."
Today i didn't go to school (for the reasons above and because we were only watching a movie in class that i already confirmed with Movie Madness that they have) and today was beautiful outside. I finally finished packaging that package for Izaak and i mailed off my Christmas Thank You's and ran all sorts of errands around town.
When Andy was in town, we both bought leather jackets at Rad Summer. I was kind of joking about it at first, but man, riding my bike around in a leather jacket makes me feel pretty good. Alex said that this will do for me what adding color to his wardrobe did to him. I hope so.
45 degrees with clear skies and sunshine. Why would i want to be in school?
And Joey left today to be a sailor and Bethany started some illustrations for our tentative bike gang, Land Sailors.
What i need right now that i already have:
1. Miguel, the fish
 2. Daffodils. My dad gave me paper daffodils to make and now i won't have to wait for spring. 3. Posi-vibes
What i need right now that i don't have:
1. Miguel, the person 2. A week in Santa Cruz 3. Summertime 4. A job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Really, keep it up. 2009, will you be 200MINE?

| New Things: |
[Jan. 3rd, 2009|02:40 am] |
Newest thing is duh, 2009.
San Diego's been pretty okay. It was really nice to leave the four feet of snow in Portland. P.s. Burritos.
New Years Eve was spent traditionally at Jacob's:
1. Dr. Finger had a gig 2. Anna and Riley (so good) and Dancepandi played 3. Somebody threw up behind a couch 4. Makin' out 5. Carly Toyer insisting that me, her, and A Lowell were not retarded or funny but instead funtarded 6. I'll do anything for a Diet Pepsi late at night 7. Lots of really great people showed
And in the morning the normal crew woke up and cleaned up probably hundreds of beer bottles and Swiffered at least 3 times and John made us breakfast and it was 75 degrees and we went swimming and layed in the sun and played beach volleyball. Do you guys know how fun beach volleyball is? Do you guys know how good i am at volleyball?
2009 will be the year of doing stuff and having friends and roadtrippin' and keeping it on posi-lock and single ladies. Here's to the new year:

| Today: |
[Dec. 22nd, 2008|02:01 am] |
- i learned that my flight for tomorrow is canceled and i can't fly home until Christmas night at 10:00 or so + i went on a nice walk down Belmont and my feet sank at least a foot into the snow with every step + i learned that Paul's in town + maybe it will be a Moran family Christmas, or at least a Moran family Christmas Eve, or at least a Moran family at some point during this week - at some point during this week because being stuck inside for a whole week is starting to get lonely + but not too lonely because Kelly's here, too - but at some point, i might have to kill her - because being stuck inside for a whole week is also starting to make me feel crazy and it's starting to make Kelly seem even crazier than she regularly is + but we did have a really funny conversation that recorded what our two blogs would sound like if we had been blogging hour by hour about being trapped inside +/- we watched so many episodes of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia tonight - we didn't see Izaak or Chris guest appear in any of them - Miguel (accidentally) stole my warmest coat before he left, which had my car keys in the pocket and in my car are my two warmest pairs of socks + hey, at least my car keys aren't totally lost - oh, right, i threw up in our front yard tonight, over the stoop, into a couple feet of snow + Kelly wore a bikini indoors for a couple hours - my stomach's still upset |

[Dec. 19th, 2008|12:20 am] |
Things i love/things i miss:
This guy

And these two:

And this person

God, so much.
Family dinners for 10, short story writing contests, being in bed until noon with someone to keep you warm, looking out my window to see them all making a snowman, hearing Julia sing in the shower, & getting beat up by Joey.
I'm fighting empty nest syndrome, though. Today Kelly and i went to Fubonn and decided we should write an album together. It's in the first steps and it's good. We figured out our tags and bought some markers and everything regarding this summer is still really confusing.
Anybody want to sublet my room for the month of July so i can hitchhike down the 101 and hang out in Santa Cruz?
Stoked to be here, stoked on things i'm doing, not so stoked on missing all these people.
What a good week.

[Dec. 12th, 2008|12:20 am] |
Dear Fall Quarter,
Suck it!
-Carly
Tomorrow i leave at 10 am to go to Arcata to meet Izaak and MAYBE MIGUEL!!! (!!!) It's actually actually supposed to snow and i've got this super terrible cough.
Oh! Tonight i went ice skating. |

|
| Such an exciting day: |
[Dec. 9th, 2008|06:53 pm] |
In fact, some (i) might say that it was the best day. I woke up earlier than early and it was still dark but then the sun came up and it was all pink outside and all the car windows had a sheet of ice on them. THEN i took my chemistry test and that went totally fine and then i never thought about chemistry again.
BUT THEN i came home and Clyde from Your Heart Breaks emailed me!! She says that Dr. Finger's awesome and she wants a copy of our CD so she can play it on her radio show!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She also used a lot of exclamation marks on her email so i felt okay about doing that now, too !!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But anyways, dudes, here's Dr. Finger's "Docked Her Finger" plus a couple of live tracks from Trevor's patio: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?njzn25myzey
IT WAS THE BEST DAY. |

| Whoa whooa whooaaaaaaaaaa |
[Dec. 8th, 2008|05:19 pm] |
So many funny things happen all the time and it's hard to keep track and remember.
Here's what Portland looked like a couple weeks ago:

Here's what it looks like now:
:(
Actually, that's not true at all. It's always really beautiful and always really cold but also mainly ITS SUPPOSED TO SNOW NEXT WEEKEND!!!!
Then Portland will look like this:
. . . .* . . . . . * . . . . . . .. . . . . . ... * . . * . . . . .. . ... .*. .. ..* ........* . . .* . .. . . * . . * . . . .
And on Friday i might look like this:
:D because fall quarter will be over and maybe Izaak will be here.
Hopefully you all are looking like this:
; )

| Just like honey |
[Dec. 2nd, 2008|06:33 pm] |
I want to only listen to songs that sound like Jesus & Mary Chain's "Just Like Honey." Can you make this happen?
Our Thanksgiving looked like this:
1. Tyler received two huge huge mason jars full of weed from his Aunt. We make Thanksgiving pot butter.

2. And then we made other food to put pot butter on.

I made a vegan pumpkin pie (from scratch!) and we had lentil loaf and stuffed squash instead of turkey. Fuck turkey!
Right now it's finals week and i feel like i'm going crazy because i might actually be going crazy but i won't really know until next Wednesday.
Hopefully i'm not!

| The feeling of being in motion again! |
[Nov. 25th, 2008|12:16 am] |
Almost done with first quarter and doing work has gotten soooooooooooooooohaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrd.
I just want to craft all day and maybe hang out on the internet and "do work" and drink coffee under Tiny's heat lamps.
So that's what i do:

Tonight Natalie, Kelly, and i made plans for our billions of millions of dollars we're soon to acquire. We're thinking of buying Portland and making some drastic changes. First change: Potland (Natalie's suggestion). We're up for suggestions, such as Potopia or ThisTownRulesLand. But either way, our town will consist of the following:
1. Trampoline streets 2. Slip 'n slide freeways to replace regular freeways 3. Kickin' out the Artist 4. No cops 5. I have to buy Natalie extensions 6. Five story houses 7. Indoor swimming pools and outdoor showers 8. A committee (so far consisting of me, Natalie, and Kelly) to decide on who gets to stay in Potland 9. Grant gets a seasonal pass 10. Whatever we decide along the way because we have billions of millions of dollars 11. Oh i want a pony
This weekend we did a scavenger hunt. Of course fifty people said they were coming and only nine people showed up. My team was me, Kelly, and our future roommate Jono. Things like this happened:
Shotgunning Dale Earnhardt themed energy drinks.
 And bike jousting.
The scavenger hunt was Pokemon themed and though very few people dressed up, i was still Oddish and Jono was Pikkachu and Kelly and Alex were Team Rocket. Our team won so much. BUT SIMON DID UPPERDECK THE CRABHOLE AND JONO GAVE GRANT A NAKED HUG.
Okay okay okay it's time to get back in gear. Two more days left until Thanksgiving. Three more weeks until this stupid quarter of Chemistry is over. Four more weeks until Izaak's here. Five more weeks until Pokez and Rico's and Carly Toyer.
Yes yes yes i can do it.

|
| I'm on tonight |
[Nov. 21st, 2008|05:15 pm] |

11/22 Tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Scavenger Hunt at the Main House. Come at 7:00 p.m. SHARP! and p.s. it's Pokemon themed so come in costume. Gotta catch 'em all!
Things you may want to bring:
1. A team composed of 4-5 people 2. Mode of transportation 3. Camera 4. Tattoo gun 5. YOUR (Poke)MOM!!!
The other day i was doing a Stats lab and i was trying to remember what mu was so i text-messaged A Lowell. Tyler Hauptman said "he's just going to respond with a Pokemon reference" and then i went "huh?" and then A Lowell replied with "The 151st Pokemon!!" Alex S and Kelly watch the cartoon all the time and know all the characters and Alex learned the theme song on guitar. DORKS. |
|
|
| Life Schedule: |
[Nov. 10th, 2008|01:17 am] |
Within 24 hours: 1. Ace Spanish test. Yo soy puede! (?) (!!)
Within 2 weeks: 1. Eat only raw! Ah!
Within 1 month: 1. Hang out with Izaak and hopefully Mose in Portland! 2. Record Dr. Finger's new EP! 3. Eat a million burritos!
Within the summer: 1. The Pact Project
Within fo'ever: 1. Rule life
Totally all doable.

How funny is this? Probably actually only funny to me. That's fine.

| It'll take a teenage riot just to get me out of bed |
[Nov. 6th, 2008|10:15 pm] |
So every day i think: "okay, okay, i've gotta do this but then i'm done" and somehow every day there's still more to do. So i figured i'd make this:

I'm also in the process of printing some calling cards:

But realistically, these are the only people that would be calling me:

I don't want to be a fair-weather rider and i don't want to be soaking wet all day. I'll have to deal with one of them, though, and so far i've been cold and drenched. I'll just turn out tougher, right? LIKE I COULD BE ANY TOUGHER GOD.
Hey, where's June? |
|
|
| Dear world, |
[Nov. 1st, 2008|01:53 pm] |
I voted!!
In other news, we were getting this super rad new roommate and she was supposed to move in today. She called us last night saying there was something urgent she needed to talk to us about and when we called her back, she told us that he friend killed somebody so everyone that knows him is disappearing for a while. WHAT!!! Also, her friend that killed someone was in our house the other day! He seemed really nice and he looked a lot like Morgan. She says that she can't move in anymore because she doesn't want to put us in danger, but that we should keep her rent money for the month. WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
|
|
| Hey, |
[Oct. 30th, 2008|03:38 pm] |
Does every single college campus have a bathroom with grout puns written in the grout? I gotta say, the ones at Santa Cruz are much more clever than the ones at PSU. Today i saw "Let's talk agrout sex, baby."
Oh, and yeah, oh. One time Joey and i were talking about what we were going to do with our lives and he had this lighter with an eagle super-imposed on an American flag. He told me he was going to do that for a living. Now this is art:
 This one's called "Jesus2"
 This one's called "Eagle"
He'll make millions. |
|

| Even when it keeps me up til 4:00 AM, |
[Oct. 28th, 2008|04:03 am] |
i still think Greek mythology is way cool.
P.s. this is what comes up when you Google Image Search "sick greek mythology"

| Ugh! |
[Oct. 20th, 2008|03:58 pm] |
Today is the day that the rain starts and then doesn't stop for like, seven months. Unless it stops to snow. It might stop to snow. I rode my bike to school today at 8:30 AM and got soaking wet and stayed that way for the next four hours. The rain soaked through my shoes my socks my second pair of socks my tights and then to my toes. It was okay though, when i came home i had this:
It was a really nice letter from my mom and also a couple prints that Bethany made me.
Also, a couple months ago i made this, and i just remembered:

The other night, Kelly and i made pumpkin cupcakes and i think this also marks the time that we start baking non-stop. I'm ready for you, Winter. |
